Wood-Destroying Insect Management

Termites

Termites are a staple problem in every property. There will come a time when you would notice discolored or drooping drywalls, small, pinpoint holes in drywall, and wood that sounds hollow when tapped. One will also see mud tunnels on sill plates and floor joists or possibly a swarm of winged insects, usually in the spring. These are signs that you have termites attacking your home or business.

That is why Mantis Pest Control Inc. provides a termite warranty program. In this program, we offer home inspection and termite extermination. You can have your warranty renewed annually for an affordable price. Be proactive and get protected before a problem arises.

Termite Damage

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants get their name from the way they build their nests. These ants will excavate wood and form smooth tunnels inside them. These ants live in colonies that, when mature, contain about 10,000 to 20,000 workers. Large colonies include more than 50,000 ants. With these numbers, it is no wonder that they can deal significant damage once they have infested a property.

That is why we also offer carpenter ant warranty programs. Our team of experts will conduct inspections and treatment measures for your property’s interior and exterior. Our program includes a 60-day warranty and a renewable one-year warranty.

Carpenter Bees

These are typically weather-dependent yet highly destructive insects. They hover high around your eyes, trying to annoy you.

Carpenter bees love wooden decks, porches, and eves where they can bore holes into the wood and create a gallery to leave their pupae. They usually pack these holes with nectar and insulation to ensure their larvae will survive. If successful, larvae would eat the nectar and the wood to get out of the gallery. Since this cycle repeats, it is best to let professionals handle the job for you. We offer 60-day and one-year treatment warranties.

Powder Post Beetles

Another wood-boring insect, the powder post beetle, is usually found in older homes (100-200 years old). However, these beetles have recently been found in brand-new furniture built from an infested wood supply. Their diet includes sugar, starch, and protein found in the sap of hardwood. These beetles also love to attack types of wood with a high moisture level.
